Common questions

Where are my notes kept?

On your device, in Kabloo’s own storage. There is no account, and nothing syncs between devices. If you back up your device, the backup includes your notes. Use Kabloo’s delete controls to remove notes, and export anything you want to keep first.

Does Kabloo keep recording when I lock the screen?

On iPhone, iPad and Android phones, once your device has confirmed it, the Capture screen says Kabloo keeps recording if you lock the screen. Your device shows its microphone indicator while Kabloo records. On Android it also stays on during a pause, although no audio is recorded. A recording stops by itself after two hours of recorded time; paused time does not count.

How do I get a transcript?

On a supported iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Mac with Apple silicon, open Settings, find Kabloo Local and choose Download Local pack. The pack is picked for your device. Settings shows the total download size, so Wi-Fi is a good idea. After that, Kabloo transcribes each new recording on the device once it is saved. Kabloo Local works on the device itself, for recordings of up to two hours, in 25 European languages. Identify speakers is optional and its labels can be wrong. If your device cannot run it, Settings says why.

Can I use Kabloo on my Mac?

Yes. Record and listen on your Mac, with recordings and notes stored there. On macOS 14.2 or later, Microphone + computer audio can record your voice and the sound from a call. Allow system audio access when asked, and tell everyone on the call before recording. Interruptions on Mac stop and save the recording.

On a Mac with Apple silicon, Kabloo Local transcribes on your Mac, and its answers and reports need macOS 13.3 or later. An Intel Mac needs Kabloo Cloud for transcription, answers and reports. Cloud is optional, by invitation and needs your consent. Your notes stay on each device; nothing syncs between devices.

What is Kabloo Cloud?

An optional service that transcribes, answers and reads aloud on servers instead of on your device. It is by invitation, and it is off until you turn it on. If you have an invite code, open Settings, find Kabloo Cloud, enter the code and choose Connect. Then turn on Allow cloud processing. Kabloo says what will be sent before you agree, and the privacy policy says who receives it. On Mac, the invite code and your cloud consent last only until you close Kabloo.

Why is Kabloo Local for Ask and reports called experimental?

With its answer model installed on a supported iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Mac with Apple silicon, Kabloo Local can answer questions and write reports on your device. This version has not passed Kabloo’s own quality checks, so Kabloo marks it experimental and asks you to acknowledge that before its first answer. Answers can be incomplete or wrong. Summary reads as paragraphs; other reports use points in Kabloo’s own words and say Points are Kabloo's wording. Source excerpts are exact where linked. On both Kabloo Local and Kabloo Cloud, questionable output stays visible with warnings. Source links are optional and do not prove an answer or point is correct. Without that download, Kabloo Local is unavailable in Ask and Reports. Kabloo Cloud is a separate choice, if it is connected and you agree. For a note that already has text, use Search transcript in its Transcript tab without either service. This searches the text; it creates no answer or report.

How do I export a note?

Open the note, choose Note actions, then Export or share. Kabloo hands the transcript, its answers and reports, and the recording to your device’s share sheet. Share transcript only sends the transcript alone.

How do I delete my data?

To delete one note, open it, choose Note actions, then Delete note. To delete everything, open Settings, then Privacy and local data, and choose Delete all local data. Kabloo asks you to type DELETE first. This removes your notes, transcripts, saved answers and reports, recordings and Kabloo Local downloads, and turns cloud access off. It does not remove copies you exported, your device’s backups, or anything Kabloo Cloud already received.
